Really seeing the person today

The act of compassion begins with full attention, just as rapport does. You have to really see the person. If you see the person, then naturally, empathy arises. If you tune into the other person, you feel with them. If empathy arises, and if that person is in dire need, then empathic concern can come. You want to help them, and then that begins a compassionate act. So I’d say that compassion begins with attention.

  1. Just doing a series on Empathy, Compassion, for my Facebook page and website and really liked your blog, hope you don’t mind that I shared it on my Fanpage. My journey into myself started with reading Daniel Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence, it made me realise many things, most of all that I was emotionally stuck in my child. Since then I have worked with hundreds of people to help them transform their lives. I am glad there are so many of us here helping others others to find their way. Good luck and blessings to you in your journey.
