As many teachers have pointed out, “the path is the goal”. That means that what we experience as “obstacles” along the way is usually just a sense of our own expectations falling apart. These same obstacles can be viewed differently, as the basis for reengaging our attention and working through whatever arises, whether it is a sense of purpose and satisfaction, or boredom and resistance, or a sense of futility. Work with whatever arises

Seems so simple. Okay, is simple. Remembering in the moment when the obstacle bumps is another matter. Any tips?
Hiya. Certainly the more we sit in silence the less certain annoyances and obstacles hook us. But as you allude to, even small things can cause us to stumble when they come unexpectedly or knock us into a habitual conditioning. The main “tip” is an overall one – I try to remember is that I am not trying to get to some ideal state where no obtacle affects me. Rather I am practicing so that I can be with my experience, no matter what it is, not to make things go away. Just seeing whats going on.
