This morning is International Dawn Chorus Day, a worldwide celebration of music in nature.
The birders I encountered in books and in the world shared little except this simple secret:
if you listen to birds, every day will have a song in it.

So true, I love the dawn chorus, which for us comes with the call of the cuckoo, the rapping of the woodpecker, the cooing of the wood pigeons and so many more. 🙂
Hi Jude, It was a beautiful dawn for it here today, I think nicer than what you are having. We have a wood pigeon who is nesting in the garden year on year but never seems to produce any results. She has come back these last few days so hopefully this year. Karl
In Florida I savored the dawn chorus, and so did our cat. We’d sit on our screened lanai and watch and listen to the birds. Now up north, I find it has been too cold here to have windows open, so I look forward to warmer weather so we can connect with the chorus up here!
