Sunday Quote: things change

June 1st – Acceptance of the natural cycles of life – an awareness that nothing lasts forever gives rise to appreciation of what one has.

.The person who grieves over dead branches will never own a flourishing tree.

To cherish things without clinging – this is the way.

Yoshida Kenkō,  poet and Buddhist monk, Essays in Idleness, 1330

  1. Hi Karl. Sunday’s post is poignant just now as my mom just died and dad (98 years old) is grieving terribly after 75.5 years of marriage. Not an easy concept to start to put into place for him just now … Hope you are well

    1. So sorry to hear your news Monique. Change is very hard to work with even in day-to-day things, let alone in your dad’s case. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam. Karl
