Easter Saturday.. a day of waiting
When I stop running from what frightens me, and instead try to feel and understand it, I learn to deal with the world with greater kindness.
Before you know kindness as the deepest thing inside,
you must know sorrow as the other deepest thing.

This is so true and very timely for me. I am about to leave for Ecuador’s coast, where residents will hold services to honor those who died a year ago tomorrow.
Very nice image for this theme as well.
Thank you, Wishing you blessings on your trip, Karl
Thank you for this, Karl. As a former Christian, converted secular Jew and now Buddhist, I’m not sure what to make of Easter anymore. My friend Tiramit posted a very informative blog about it today here: https://dhammafootsteps.com/2017/04/14/renewal/ Compassion makes the most sense, and sometimes, and now, it begins at home.
Hiya, Thanks for the link to the nice article. I think the themes around this time are very rich and universal and not confined to just one tradition, but reflect on our basic nature and indeed the end of suffering. And I just wanted to post on one of the places where we learn to soften our hearts, as we have to wait in silence beside something which we did not choose, Best wishes, Karl
