Autumn: new beginnings

A short note on the passing of time: I started this blog ten years ago this week, and, once I got going, have posted every day since then. Some of you have been with me since those early days, and I thank you for your support and encouragement. I am very grateful to everyone who stops by, even if just once.

I post to remind myself to begin anew every day and hope that the thoughts selected help you see the world in new  and fresh ways too.

That old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air… Another Fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year’s mistakes had been wiped clean by summer.

  1. Congratulations 🙂

I’ve always enjoyed your posts and look forward to your reminders each day, that to really enjoy life, one has to live Mindfully each day – focusing on whatever IS, not the past (which is gone), nor the future (which is not here yet).

So many interesting quotes and suggestions.

  2. Hi 👋

Stopping by to say hello & thank you for your work.

I so Enjoy your postings (which I learned of through Webster) –

Wallace Stegner is one of my favorite all time authors — it also helps he was a great family friend and wrote a book about his close relationship w my grandparents and our clan in Vermont —

If you like his writing (& haven’t yet read it), I’d highly recommend you read one of his last novels (based on my family), called

    « Crossing to Safety «

Keep up the good work! All best
