Step back

step back

Liberation ….is a process of mentally, emotionally, stepping back from any state and seeing it just as a state, without reactions and attitudes.

This simple skill, which most of us can do from time to time, is what we develop in … practice.

A new loveliness.

You cannot live without dying.
You cannot live if you do not die psychologically every minute.
This is not an intellectual paradox. To live completely,
wholly, every day as if it were a new loveliness,
there must be dying to everything of yesterday,
otherwise you live mechanically,
and a mechanical mind can never know what
love is or what freedom is.

Life is not a problem to be solved,

it is a mystery to be lived.

A quiet happiness

I have no power of miracle

other than the attainment of quiet happiness.

I have no tact

except the exercise of gentleness

Ordinary

File:Rushmere (04), August 2009.JPG

The sacred is in the ordinary…

it is to be found in one’s daily life, in one’s neighbors, friends, and family, in one’s own backyard…

travel may be a flight from confronting the scared — this lesson can be easily lost.

To be looking elsewhere for miracles is to me a sure sign of ignorance that everything is miraculous

The  Comet Jacques passed over Ireland these last few days, but unfortunately cloud cover made it difficult to experience this “once in a lifetime” event. It will not be back for another 20,000 years. The night sky tends to put things into perspective:

If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night I’ll bet they’d live a lot differently.

When you look into infinity you realize that there are more important things than what people do everyday.
